LONGVILLE STATION

A derelict former Railway Station converted to residential use. Retaining historic features; removing inappropriate later extensions and extending sympathetically to provide a house of modern proportions and standards. 

Designed to incorporate a real engine tender and guard's van on reinstated track as an integral part of the scheme. In spite of the Planning Officer's initial objection, we were able to convince the Authority that in addition to putting the historic fabric into good repair and use, our scheme would be attractive due to its unique nature. Arguing for a scheme of sufficient scale to support the quality design, detailing and materials intended.

Following initial objection, the Planning Officer accepted further extensions and reported "... in my opinion this is a very fine example of what can be achieved."

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT WATERS UPTON

The Parish Council of Waters Upton near Telford have started a project to develop a purpose built rural community facility with Shop and Post Office, IT Access Centre, Meeting Room and Community Office. The project based on this approved scheme was launched by Fox Associates.
