SOME EXAMPLES OF OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
CHENEY LONGVILLE BARN An important timber frame historic structure relying on l7th Century detailing such as post and truss and tension brace construction. Standing on staddle stones. A residential conversion incorporating substantiation intervention to ensure its structural survival. Respecting the essential rugged, open and spatial character of the building with design detailing retaining those qualities which allow for its immediate interpretation as a former agricultural building. The Local Authority Conservation Officer's report commented "... The use of non-standard joinery and the insetting of the screening to the former open drift shows considerable skill ..." and "... The conversion of the ... Annex similarly repeats the design skill ... an imaginative re-use of a redundant Listed Building".
MARCHE MANOR Early Elizabethan Grade .... Listed Manor House - with later additions. A timber building of unusual beauty and interest. Research; survey; repair and rebuilding the Dovecote; Utility link and outbuildings. Replicating historic techniques but updating to modern standards in conjunction with the Local Authority Conservation Officer.
